ClockCost AI connector

Connect the AI assistant you already use (Claude, ChatGPT or Meta Muse) to your ClockCost books. It can tell you what needs your attention, explain your numbers with the same reports ClockCost shows, and, if you allow it, book bank lines, match receipts and checks, draft invoices, enter bills, and send invoice reminders and job visit notices. Every change is shown to you first and saved only after you say yes.

Who can use it

A company with a ClockCost account. Only the account owner can connect an AI app.
An AI app that supports remote MCP connectors: Claude (web, desktop and mobile), ChatGPT on a paid plan with Developer mode, Meta Muse, and others.

Connect it

Claude

In Claude, open Customize → Connectors, click +, then Add custom connector.
Name it ClockCost, paste https://clockcost.com/mcp, click Add, then Connect.
A ClockCost window opens. Sign in with your company code, office password and 6-digit code. Tick Also let it make changes and send messages only if you want it to; leave it unticked for read only.

ChatGPT

On a paid plan with Developer mode turned on in ChatGPT's settings, add a custom connector (MCP server) with the address https://clockcost.com/mcp and sign in the same way.

Meta Muse (and other apps that connect with a key)

In ClockCost: Settings → Advanced → Connected AI → Make a connection key. Type your 6-digit code and copy the key (shown once).
In Muse, send: Create a custom connector named ClockCost. MCP server URL https://clockcost.com/mcp, streamable HTTP, authenticated with an x-api-key header. Open the secure credentials store so I can enter the key there, not in this chat.
Paste the key into Muse's credentials store, never into the chat.

Every change works in two steps: the AI shows you a preview of exactly what will be saved or sent, and nothing happens until you approve it in the chat. A preview can be used once, and only for the change it describes. Draft invoices are never sent by the AI; you send them from ClockCost.

Permissions and safety

Each connection reaches only your company's records.
Read only by default. Changes need your separate permission when you connect, and your yes on each one.
See and disconnect every connection in Settings → Advanced → Connected AI. Disconnecting takes effect immediately.
Sign-in tokens expire on their own. Connection keys are stored only in scrambled form, and you're emailed whenever one is made.
ClockCost logs each request a connection makes (which tool and when). It does not receive your conversation with the AI app.
